Mehdi Dabirnia received the B.S. and M.S. degrees both in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran, in 2007 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, in December 2017. He was a Research Assistant with Communication Theory and Applications Research Lab, Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, from 2013 to 2017. His Ph.D. research was focused on the design and analysis of capacity approaching coding solutions for energy harvesting and multiuser communications.
Since January 2018 he is a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. His research interests include various topics in communication theory, information theory and coding theory.
Dr. Dabirnia is the recipient of the best presentation award for the 2016 graduate research conference (GRC) from Bilkent University. He was awarded a doctoral research scholarship from Bilkent University, Turkey. He is a member of IEEE (Information Theory society). He served as a reviewer for several IEEE journals and conferences including IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Information Theory Workshop and IEEE International Conference on Communications.
